Taylor County, Florida Joins SLERS as Latest 3rd Party Subscriber

Taylor County, Florida is the latest entity to join the Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) in Florida as a "Third-Party" subscriber.  The SLERS now provides service to dozens of first responders within the Taylor County Sheriff's Office, City of Perry Police Department, Taylor County EMS, and Fire/Rescue organizations throughout Taylor County.

With four SLERS 800 MHz radio sites providing coverage within Taylor County, the move to SLERS was an easy decision for county officials.

Formerly using wide-band VHF and UHF radio systems, by migrating to the SLERS, Taylor County avoided a huge taxpayer expense in reconfiguring their radio infrastructure to FCC-mandated narrowband requirements.

Further, with all public safety and first responders on the SLERS network, interoperable communications between served agencies is built-in, such that deputies, police officers, EMS and Fire/Rescue can all communicate together on-scene, should such a need arise.
